The 9039 is best understood as a no-date derivative of the 9015: the two movements share the same 26 mm diameter, identical dial-foot positions, 24 jewels, and 28,800 bph beat rate. They should not be assumed drop-in interchangeable, however, as the hand-stack height differs and case, stem, and hand fit must be checked. Omitting the date mechanism removes the 9015's date-setting crown position, leaving winding and time-setting positions only and no blank date wheel visible under translucent dials.
